IT Group Speaks at STI Employment Preparation Seminar for Graduating Students

QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES, October 9, 2008. IT Group, Inc., an enabler and partner of businesses for service innovation, was recently invited to give talk on the “Employment Preparation Seminar” of the STI College Sta. Maria Bulacan Branch. The seminar was held last October 8-9, 2008 at the St. Anthony de Padua Hall, Sta. Maria Parish, Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

The “Employment Preparation Seminar” is part of the Enrollment-to-Employment (E2E) program of the STI Colleges in celebration of its 25th year anniversary. The seminar was attended by graduating students from different departments—Information and Technology, Nursing, and other 2-year course programs. The seminar aims to equip STI students with relevant knowledge and skills for the workplace. The 2-day seminar featured talks on personal well-being, learning outcomes, opportunities in different industries, and talks on career and life goals.

Mr. Rommel Bernabe, one of IT Group’s Senior Consultants, gave a talk on Career Opportunities in the IT Industry. His presentation was entitled “Opportunities in the IT Services Management Industry”. He gave an overview of the concept of IT Services Management and how it is practiced by many growing companies in different industries. He also presented the trends he is seeing in the industry, from Business Processing Outsourcing, Contact Centers, IT Outsourcing, Animation, Medical Transcription, Engineering, and Software Development—and he even mentioned some top companies new graduates migh want to join in the BPO, ITSM, and Telecommunication businesses.
