It has been evident how Toby's surpassed the challenge of times and endured the all time competition prevailing in the market. Just like other companies who made it and embraced the success everyone in the business world is vying for, Toby's Sports enliven the saying “Nothing is impossible from a strong determination and deep commitment towards success”. From a start up toy store, that sold Mickey Mouse and other Disney products, Toby's has transformed into a sporting goods store that offers a vast selection of top-of-the-line sports products and services to retailers and wholesalers. Toby's has indeed made a mark in the industry as it revolutionized the sporting business with its introduction of a Sports Chain Concept.
With the success the company is enjoying, of course the management won’t just simply sit on their couch and relax. They should also be on guard with other competitors trying to win over the lead position in the market. They need to make some little shake offs, to see what other else to improve in order to continually lengthen more the thread of their business’ life and most importantly, their triumph.
The Challenges
Toby‘s Sports had been using a DOS based program on managing their sales data. With the current trend now in technology, and with the greater demand to support growing transaction, a more robust information support system has been rampant in the market nowadays. To be left behind in terms of technology is not really the big issue. The main concern is the great benefit the company will be able to avail out of the improving Information Technology. An astounding technology is needed to reinforce more the company.
- Manage Increasing Data Volume. Find software than has the capacity to handle larger bulk of transactions (and the fact that it will increase more in the future).
- Fast Daily Tracking of Sales. Accumulate the sales data from different branches (stores) to the Main Office promptly and accurate.
- Coordinating Information System. Incorporate all the activities and operations of all existing departments into one database; therefore improve its Information System.

The Result
Being engaged in a Sports Chain type of business and with the getting bigger Sales transactions requires a vigorous information system to better manage its daily transactions. Toby‘s could now download their sales from its Sports Chain at different locations to the Main Office. They could now make a fast daily tracking of sales. Moreover, Toby‘s also acquired other Module aside from Accounts Receivable, like the Accounts Payable including the middleware for downloading of Purchases, and General Ledger Module for their back end accounting System to support the head office operations. Now, part of their plan for this year is to enroll on ITG‘s Technical Assistance Program (TAP) as an after sales support, an indication of Toby’s confidence on ITG’s valuable service.
